Wolfpack Teams Have Good Meet in Preparation for Conference Meet at Stanton Invitational
In the final tune up for the Lewis & Clark conference meet next week, the Wolfpack boys’ and girls’ team had good showings at the Stanton Invitational.
The girls’ team posted two medalists. Alejandra Hermosillo finished 8th in the field of 53 with a time of 22:29.2. Running mate, Bre Millard grabbed 12th place in a 23:05.1 clocking. Freshman, Chloe Peters, crushed her early career best running a time of 25:18.4. Peter’s prior best was 28:51. Jenni Olson rounded out the team with a time of 27:21.
Jude Ridenour collected an 18th place medal in the boys’ division with a time of 19:28.6. Alex Snyder wasn’t far behind with a time of 19:41.1. Snyder’s effort was good for 22nd. Devon Lewellen rounded out the team with a time of 21:32., good for 36th place. The boys’ field featured 64 contestants.
Two junior high girls ran the 2000-meter course as well. Cora Ridenour finished fourth with a time of 10:02.9. Leah Johnson ran a time of 13:50.8, good for 15th place.
The Wolfpack teams next compete, Friday, October 11th at the Rolling Hills Country Club, west of Wausa. Meet time is set for 4:00 for the girls’ varsity followed by the boys’ varsity at approximately 4:40.
COACHES COMMENTS:
“The athletes had a good day. Not everyone hit a season best, but with 30 mph winds, it was going to be a good day if the athletes were close to their season bests. The team continues to be a work in progress and hopefully these next two weeks will show signs of improvement and desire to finish the season on a strong note. Good Job Teams.”
