Wolfpack X-C teams tackle tougher course and tough competition……….
It was a challenging day for Wolfpack cross country team as they travel to run at the Crofton Invitational.
The field was stacked with very good runners from South Sioux City, Crofton, Wayne and Norfolk Catholic to name a few.
The teams ran approximately 45 seconds slower per individual than usual on the very hilly terrain of the Crofton golf course, but nonetheless, they took the challenge of the course and performed well in general.
The lone medalist on the day was junior Alejandra Hermosillo (12th) in a time of 23:11.
The other girl team members finished as follows:
Bre Millard (20th) 24:25
Jenni Olson (35th) 27:00
Hailey Millard (38th) 27:52
Chloe Peters (40th) 28:56
The boys’ team ran spirited runs, but no one earned a medal. Leading the boy’s team was sophomore Jude Ridenour (20th) with a time of 20:08. Alex Snyder finished (28th) in a time of 20:32, and Devon Lewellen posted a (41st) finish in 22:59.
Next action for the Wolfpack harriers will be Thursday, October 3rd at the Stanton Invitational. Meet time is set for 4:00.
COACHES COMMENTS:
“The athletes showed consistency for the most part as a team. Most were approximately 45 seconds off their best times, which for the course having no real flat areas of any kind, should be looked at as a good day. The team had not run on this kind of layout all year and handled it in good fashion. It was a good test of their mental toughness to navigate the course. The athletes will now focus on working for a good finish to the end of the season. Good Job Athletes!”
