Hermosillo and Ridenour Compete at NSAA State Cross Country Meet
Two Tri County Northeast Wolfpack runners made the journey to the Kearney Country Club on Friday, October 24th for the Class D state meet. It was cool, breezy and somewhat misty for the event. Nonetheless, both runners gave good efforts for the conditions.
Senior, Alejandra Hermosillo, finished 64th in the field of 121 runners, posting a time of 22:022. That was her best time of the season as well and the best by any Wolfpack runner on the course in Kearney since the beginning of the cross-country program. This was Alejandra’s 3 consecutive trip to the state championships.
Junior Jude Ridenour finished 80th in the field of 131 runners, posting a time of 18:41. Ridenour too has the fastest cooperative time on the Kearney Country Club course. Ridenour was competing in his second consecutive state meet.
The meet was highly competitive, and the two runners’ efforts were very good.
COACHES COMMENTS:
“Both Alejandra and Jude gave their best efforts today on a course that is very difficult and then to combine it with some difficult weather it was pleasing to the coaching staff. Congratulations to Alejandra for three consecutive trips to Kearney and improving each time she ran there. Also, congratulations to Jude for his improved time from last year, and we hope to see him at Kearney again next year! Great season athletes!”
