Wolfpack Roll Past Homer in Subdistrict Opener, 64-44

The postseason got off to a strong start for the Tri County Northeast Wolfpack on Monday night. Behind a balanced scoring attack and efficient shooting, TCNE powered past the Homer Knights 64-44 in the first round of C2-4 subdistrict play at Norfolk Catholic High School on February 23.

The Wolfpack shot an impressive 56 percent from the field (27-of-48) and were equally sharp from inside the arc, converting 61 percent of their two-point attempts. TCNE also connected on seven three-pointers and knocked down 15 free throws to help build steady separation throughout the contest.

Sophomore Tucker Anderson led the Wolfpack offensive charge with 16 points, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the floor and adding two free throws. Anderson also contributed on the defensive end with two steals and grabbed two rebounds.

Senior Thatcher Lamp added seven points while providing strong all-around production. Lamp pulled down four rebounds, dished out four assists, and collected three steals in a well-rounded effort.

Knox Lamp chipped in 10 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting night, while Landyn Servine scored 13 points and added four rebounds and two assists. Jude Ridenour came up big on the glass with a team-high seven rebounds to go along with six points and five assists.

Logan Morgan contributed eight points and three assists, and Devin Reinert added four points and four rebounds. The Wolfpack also received key minutes from their bench as they controlled the tempo and kept pressure on the Knights defensively.

As a team, TCNE outrebounded Homer 32-23 and tallied 13 steals, helping force turnovers that led to transition opportunities. The Wolfpack finished with 16 assists on 27 field goals, showcasing unselfish ball movement throughout the night.

With the win, Tri County Northeast advances in subdistrict play where they will take on the number 1 seed Norfolk Catholic.
