Wolfpack Open Season with Dominant Win Over Madison
The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack football team kicked off its season in impressive fashion, defeating the Madison Dragons 54-8 in their home opener.
The Wolfpack offense piled up 417 total yards, including an impressive 330 yards on the ground. Senior Blake Kneifl led the rushing attack with 172 yards on 18 carries and four touchdowns, averaging 9.6 yards per carry. Sophomore Ben Bousquet added 79 rushing yards, while junior Logan Morgan broke loose for a 32-yard touchdown run. Freshman Madyx Beacom also found the end zone as part of TCNE's strong ground attack.
TCNE was efficient through the air as well, completing four of five passes for 87 yards. Freshman Easton Millard hauled in two receptions for a team-high 70 yards, while Morgan added two catches for 17 yards.
The Wolfpack defense helped keep Madison in check throughout the contest. Logan Morgan led TCNE with seven total tackles, while Beacom and Millard each recorded six. Junior Knox Lamp provided pressure up front with two sacks and two tackles for loss. TCNE also recovered two fumbles, including a recovery by Beacom that he returned 29 yards.
With contributions coming from all three phases of the game, the Wolfpack opened their season on a high note with the convincing 54-8 home victory over the Dragons.
