2025 Wolfpack Golf Preview
With Senior leadership, Tri County Northeast Golf is hopeful for a successful season
The Tri County Northeast Golf Team is building off the experience that their younger athletes gained last year in competitive tournament play. With the help from their Senior leadership, they are hopeful for a successful season.
The Wolfpack is led by Senior Ben Jorgensen. Jorgensen had seven Top-10 finishes last year and earned his way for a 3rd trip to the Class C State Golf Championship. After having Day 1 cancelled at the State Tournament, Jorgensen Shot an 80 the next day which gave him a top 20 finish and a Wolfpack school record for lowest 18-hole score at the state tournament.
Returning for the Wolfpack is Senior Gabe Olesen and Sophomore Landyn Servine. Olesen had two Top-15 finishes last year. Servine earned a spot on varsity halfway through the season last year. Both are expected to play vital roles on the team this year.
Looking to fill the 4th and 5th position are Juniors Joe Roth and Nathan Franzluebbers, Sophomore Jaxon Hall, and Freshmen Braxton Sebade, Cy Mueller, and James Kneifl. The Wolfpack are coached by D.J. Smith and Doug Mackling.
Coach Smith’s comments:
“We are eager to get this year underway for golf. So far, the weather has been nice, so the team is working hard off and on the course. We believe as a team that this could be a very successful season for us. We have golfers who gained experience from last year and we are confident that their scores will continue to get lower. We also have golfers who have years of experience. If you put those two together, we should be able to bring home some trophies this year.”
